Met Éireann Divisions
Information Technology Division


This Division supports the work of Met Éireann by providing and maintaining the various computer and telecommunications systems in operational use throughout the organisation.These include systems for numerical weather prediction, graphics display, telecommunications, weather radar and aviation weather databases.

It liaises with other divisions, notably Research and Applications, regarding numerical prediction and graphics systems. It also liaises with the Instruments and Environmental Monitoring Division on such matters as the computing aspects of the Weather Surveillance Radar systems, Weather Satellites and Automatic Weather Stations (AWS) and with the Climatology and Observations Division regarding the Climate Database.
