Today
Widespread rain at first, heavy in places. However, drier and brighter conditions developing in western counties will extend eastwards this afternoon and evening. Light, variable winds will become fresh to strong, northwesterly for a time before decreasing moderate to fresh, west to southwest later. Mild initially but turning cooler later; highest temperatures 13 to 15 degrees Celsius.
Tonight
Any rain still affecting the northeast will clear early tonight. Showers will occur near southwestern and western coasts but elsewhere will be mostly dry with clear spells. Southwest winds will continue to moderate overnight and it will be cool; lowest temperatures 4 to 8 degrees Celsius.
Tomorrow
Scattered showers will continue near Atlantic coasts early on Wednesday. Otherwise the day will be dry with sunny spells and light to moderate, southwest breezes. Highest temperatures 13 to 15 degrees Celsius.
3 Day Outlook
Unsettled weather but overall mild. Wednesday night will be dry and cool with light winds early in the night but a freshening southerly will develop and it will become milder by early Thursday morning. Thursday will be very windy but mild. Thickening cloud and rain will spread into the southwest, west and north during the day and will become persistent and heavy there, but most other areas will stay dry for daylight hours. Windy and wet in most places on Thursday night. The rain will continue into Friday with further heavy falls expected, however it should clear from western areas by early afternoon with brighter weather following there, but staying overcast and wet in the east and south with further heavy rain and the danger of flooding continuing for the rest of Friday and overnight. Still some rain in eastern areas early Saturday but clearing away in the morning and the rest of the day will be mostly dry and bright.
